Talented artist Boris Shapiro was born in 1968, in Lvov, the Soviet Union. He studied at the school of fine arts in his native city. But in 1991, Boris Shapiro immigrated to Israel and joined the Beer Sheva College of art. After experimenting with different media and styles Boris developed his own naive-like style based on 16-17th century Dutch school, like that of great Dutch master Peter Bruegel. With his beautiful painting he expresses his own humor, irony and simplicity of life. The portraits of 17th century people are whimsical, and the colors are usual Earth tones, symbolizing the down to earthiness of everyday life. Personal exhibitions of Boris Shapiro took place in Panama, Israel, Paris, group exhibitions in Israel, Great Britain, the United States, France, the Netherlands and Belgium.
