So much of Judaism revolves around protection and So much of Judaism revolves around protection and blessings and Birkat Habayit is no different. It is traditionally hung near a window or door and its purpose is to drive evil away from the home and its residents.

The soft tones of this painting only further create this atmosphere. The painting is bathed in pinks, teals, and purples, giving it a dream-like quality.

On either side of the rabbi officiating the wedding are two glowing hearts that seem to pulse with love. Hearts appear all over the rest of the artwork, hidden in the little crevices.

Each of the monolithic stones that make up the wall have their own pattern, signifying their age and how much they've endured. It's also unusal to paint a picture of the Kotel but exclude the plants and notes within the cracks. Why do you think this was done?

There is a blessing over wine, over spices, and a blessing over the fire. Afterwards, it is customary to sing Eliyahu HaNavi.

Check out the little details of the candles in thi Check out the little details of the candles in this beautiful painting. The candles are multicolored, no the traditional red/orange/yellow blend. A possible reasons is the artist wished to signify that it represents the Jewish community and how it is made of so many different types of people, each bringing their own color and light.

The Leviim Judaica Art Gallery of Brooklyn was founded over two years ago to fill the niche of selling affordable Judaica art and showcasing new Judaica artists who do not have a platform or voice. We converted a parking garage off Kingston Avenue in Brooklyn, New York in Crown Heights. We buy and sell all types of art primarily Judaica. We have hundreds of paintings from across the world and north america featuring over 30 artists. We source new inventory weekly directly from the artists thus removing the middle man, providing you with the most affordable price.

When Joshua led the Israelites into the land of Canaan (Joshua 13:33), the Sons of Levi were the only Israelite tribe that received cities but were not allowed to be landowners “because the Lord the God of Israel Himself is their inheritance”. This led us to pursue other creative endeavors such as singing, music and painting. We are continuing this tradition here at The Leviim Judaica Art Gallery of Brooklyn.
